Backyard BBQ: The Ultimate Burger Bash

With the summer sun on fire, the smell of a backyard barbecue party can’t be contained. As the blue smoke billows over the green grass, the ultimate burger competition kicks off with a bang. Friends sit around the charcoal fire, spatulas and brushes in hand become their musical instruments, and each burger is their note, intertwined into a delicious melody.

Prepare the ingredients:

  • Beef steak 500g, hand pressed into burger patties
  • Fresh bagel 6 pcs.
  • 6 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 3 fresh tomatoes, sliced
  • 6 lettuce leaves
  • 1 cucumber, sliced
  • 1 red onion, sliced
  • Smoked bacon 6 slices
  • Homemade barbecue sauce
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

BBQ Steps:

  1. Preheat charcoal: spread the charcoal evenly under the grill, light it and wait for the charcoal to burn until the outside is charred and the inside is tender, with moderate heat.
  2. Patty Seasoning: Season the beef steaks with a good amount of salt and black pepper and press by hand to form thick hamburger patties.
  3. Buns Grilled: Halve the buns and place them on the edge of the grill and gently grill until the tops are lightly golden brown.
  4. Burger Patty Grilling: Place seasoned burger patties on the grill and cook for 3-5 minutes on each side, adjusting doneness to your preference.
  5. Bacon Slices Grilled: place smoked bacon slices next to burger patties and grill until golden brown and slightly crispy on both sides.
  6. Stacking toppings: place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of the grilled burger patty and allow the heat to melt it.
  7. ASSEMBLE BURGERS: Spread lettuce leaves on the bottom of the toasted buns, then top with the marinated burger patties, followed by grilled bacon, tomato slices, cucumber slices, and shredded red onion in that order.
  8. FINAL SAUCE: Spread the other half of the bun with homemade BBQ sauce and cover the burger.
  9. PERFECT PRESENTATION: Place the assembled burgers back on the grill and heat them slightly over a low flame to make the whole burger even more aromatic and hot.

Burger Competition Tip:

  • Do not flip burger patties repeatedly to keep the juices fresh.
  • When grilling the bagels, pay attention to the heat to avoid burning.
  • Add different seasonings such as honey, mustard, etc. to add flavour to your homemade barbecue sauce.
